Sutton House Queered was an ambitious year long series of exhibitions and events co-produced with LGBTQ+ communities. It was part of the wider Prejudice and Pride programme across the National Trust in 2017.
The exhibitions included:
An exhibition of artworks by one of our community members Victor Zagon, an older gay man from Hungary.
A series of artworks by Sutton House volunteer Kev Clarke
A photography exhibition of portraits of Munroe Bergdorf in and around Sutton House, taken by Sarah Moore
An exhibition curated by members of Project Indigo, a group for young LGBTQ+ people in Hackney
I also oversaw the redesigning of the toilet signs to remove gendered stick figures and to be more explicitly gender neutral
